Denmark has lifted all remaining coronavirus restrictions, making it the first EU country to go completely back to pre-pandemic daily life. In March 2020, at the start of the pandemic, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen urged all Danes to show “samfundssind” which translates to “social-mindedness.” It suggests considering the needs of Danish society above your own. The prime minister’s idea of “social mindedness” may sound good in theory, but it ultimately eliminates the individual freedoms required for a healthy and free modern society.
