Allyn Walker, an assistant professor at Old Dominion University, argues that people who are sexually attracted to children should not be ostracized for their attractions, as long as they do not act on them. In Walker’s view, non-offending pedophiles cannot control their attractions therefore, they should not be stigmatized. American conservative writer Rod Dreher disagrees, saying that if we normalize the desire, legalizing the behavior will follow.
