Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott deployed 10,000 state troopers and National Guard units to the U.S. southern border. The order comes as three migrant caravans, that number over 10,000 people, pass through Mexico with the intent to reach America. The forces dispatched by Abbott are part of Operation Lone Star, a unit focused on combating the smuggling of people and drugs into the state of Texas.
