Thousands of Dutch protesters ignored Amsterdam’s protest ban and hit the streets anyway, protesting Netherland’s latest Covid lockdown. Videos show police using dogs and batons on protesters to try and break up the crowd. The government shut the country down suddenly on December 19, ordering all non-essential stores to close until at least January 14. Public gatherings of more than two people are also currently prohibited.
