Profusa, a private sector company, partnered with the U.S. Defense Department and created a tiny hydro-gel bio-sensor that is placed under the skin. The sensor is able to measure what’s going on at a tissue level. Dr. Matthew Hepburn is calling the new technology “a human check engine light.” Hepburn said, “What we want to do is detect an infection as early as possible before someone even spreads it to another person.” He believes this could stop a future pandemic.
