Austria Mandates Vaccines for All Residents Aged 18 and Over

Objectivity 4.1 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.8

Austria’s parliament has made it illegal to be unvaccinated by approving a vaccine mandate for all residents of the country aged 18 and over. Starting mid-March police will conduct door-to-door inspections for the vaccination status of every Austrian. Those who cannot produce proof of vaccination will be fined up to 600 euros (USD 685). Fines could reach up to 3,600 euros (USD 4,074) if they choose to contest it in court. The mandate is expected to remain in place until the end of January 2024.
