Prime Minister Justin Trudeau sparked outrage Wednesday in the Canadian House of Commons after accusing a Jewish Conservative Party member of supporting people who wave swastikas. Conservative MP Melissa Lantsman remarked how Trudeau enacted an unjustified Emergencies Act to stand against the protesters after calling them misogynistic, racist, women-haters, science-deniers, the fringe. “Conservative Party members can stand with people who wave swastikas, they can stand with people who wave the Confederate flag,” Trudeau responded. MP Dane Lloyd rebuked Trudeau, “Mr. Speaker, I’ve never seen such shameful and dishonorable remarks coming from this prime minister,” said Lloyd.
