Despite declining cases of COVID-19 and easing of restrictions in the US, Biden has extended the national emergency originally put in place by President Trump. In his letter to Congress, Biden declared “there remains a need to continue this national emergency,” just days before The People’s Convoy is set to launch. The Biden administration is leveraging the extended powers granted under a national emergency, gauging potential support of $30 billion in federal funding.
