Biden’s sanctions against Russia will degrade their space program through export control measures, however, NASA will continue to partner with Roscosmos, Russia’s space agency. A spokesperson from NASA said, “NASA continues working with all our international partners, including the State Space Corporation Roscosmos, for the ongoing safe operations of the International Space Station.” Aboard the ISS are 4 NASA astronauts, 4 Russian cosmonauts, and 1 European astronaut. According to experts, it is not foreseeable that relations aboard the space station will be affected by the conflict on the ground, as reported by the Associated Press.
