Republican Gov. Mike DeWine signed legislation that allows Ohioans to carry a concealed handgun without a permit or training. The bill, which takes effect on June 12, no longer requires them to proactively tell law enforcement during traffic stops they are armed. Dean Rieck, executive director of the Buckeye Firearms Association, said, “Gov. DeWine made a campaign promise to Buckeye Firearms Association and to Ohio’s 4 million gun owners that he would sign a Constitutional Carry bill if it was put on his desk… And he has fulfilled his promise.”
