The Washington Post reported that the Department of Homeland Security put a pause on the newly created disinformation board following criticism of Nina Jankowicz, truth czar of the board, for spreading disinformation herself. Her formal resignation was announced on Wednesday. In 2020, Jankowicz claimed the Hunter Biden laptop story was a “Trump campaign product” and later posted that Joe Biden cited “50 former natsec officials and 5 former CIA heads that believe the laptop is a Russian influence op.” Despite her efforts to discredit the story, the Hunter Biden laptop was authenticated by several news outlets.
