Biden Set to Give Concessions to Dictatorial Regimes of Cuba and Venezuela

Objectivity 3.6 | Credibility 4.2 | Relevance 4.5

The State Department announced measures to ease sanctions against the dictatorial regimes of Cuba and Venezuela.  The measures would include an exemption to the embargo on Cuba, by allowing educational tourism to the island.  According to anonymous sources, the White House would allow the oil corporation Chevron to resume business talks with Petróleos de Venezuela.  U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) said that the measures could send “the wrong message to the wrong people, at the wrong time and for all the wrong reasons.”
