Texas Lieutenant Gives More Detail on School Shooting

Objectivity 4.1 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.7

Texas DPS Lieutenant Chris Olivarez said that law enforcement officers had not entered Robb Elementary School right away because they were concerned that they could be shot. Olivarez explained that officers had gone into the school very quickly, but then heard the gunfire and called for backup, opting to wait for the assistance a tactical team could provide. The officer also acknowledged that the protocol in a school shooting is to disable the shooter immediately, but advocated for the officers who did not know where the gunman was.
