Republicans Push Bill to Protect Military Who Refuse Covid Vaccine

Defense officials would be required to grant honorable discharge to nearly all troops who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine and grant waivers to troops with natural immunity under new legislation introduced by Republican senators.  The measure faces a difficult path to becoming law, since Democrats control both chambers of Congress and the White House.  Texas Sen. Ted Cruz said, “It is absolutely unacceptable that the Biden administration is trying to coerce our men and women in uniform to violate their conscience and religious beliefs, let alone on an issue as polarizing as the COVID-19 vaccine.”
