Sports Illustrated piece expressed stark criticism for a likely affirmation from the Supreme Court to allow Bremerton High School assistant football coach, Joe Kennedy, to pray during games.  Sports Illustrated writer, Greg Bishop, said this decision is an “erosion” of a bedrock principle of American democracy and claims that religious expression in government-supported schools violates “separation of church and state.”  However, in the past, the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld certain religious expression in schools multiple times.  Repeatedly throughout the article, Bishop says Coach Kennedy is “aimless,” shiftless, and struggling to find meaning in his life….”
