Russia Becomes China’s Largest Oil Supplier

Objectivity 4.3 | Credibility 4.7 | Relevance 4.4

Russia became China’s largest oil supplier with 2.02 million barrels a day sold to China in May. This is a jump of almost 30% from the previous month, and of 55% from May last year. While Western nations have reduced their Russian oil imports since the invasion of Ukraine, China and India have been snapping Russian oil at discounted prices. With Western nations scrambling to find other sources of crude oil, the price of a barrel has shot above $120 a barrel this year.
