Democrats Urge Google to Fix Abortion Searches that Steer Women Towards Crisis Pregnancy Centers

Objectivity 4.1 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.7

U.S. lawmakers are urging Alphabet Inc’s leading Google search engine to give accurate results to people seeking abortions rather than sometimes sending them to anti-abortion clinics that steer woman away from the procedures. The request came in a letter signed by 14 senators and 7 members of the U.S. House of Representatives, all Democrats. “If Google must continue showing these misleading results in search results and Google Maps, the results should, at the very least, be appropriately labeled,” the lawmakers wrote.
