Revolt by Dutch Farmers Against Restrictive Climate Change Rules

Objectivity 4,0 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.6

In a protest against government-mandated emissions reductions, Dutch farmers blocked roads with tractors and halted supermarket distribution networks on Monday.  In recent weeks, over 40,000 farmers have taken to the streets protesting against the regulations that would force nearly 30% of farmers out of work.  The government issued a statement in June, “…not all farmers can continue their business….”  Farmers claim the targeting is unfair and will result in loss of future prospects.
