World Economic Forum Calls for Vehicle Usership Instead of Ownership

Objectivity 3.8 | Credibility 4.2 | Relevance 4.5

In a report published by the World Economic Forum, the international lobbying group based in Switzerland is calling for a global transition away from private ownership of vehicles and other electronic devices in order to make a “clean energy revolution” possible. The report argues that private ownership of vehicles is wasteful and inefficient and proposes to transition from ownership to usership. The report acknowledges that implementing these solutions would require a dramatic change of worldwide economies, which is why it likens the transition to a revolution.
