Crops Rotting In Fields Amidst UK Labor Shortage

The British National Farmers Union (NFU) estimates that tens of millions of pounds worth of food have been left to rot in fields this year due to government restrictions on the number of foreign seasonal workers which comprise almost 70% of the agricultural labor force.  NFU Deputy President Tom Bradshaw said, “It’s nothing short of a travesty that quality, nutritious food is being wasted at a time when families across the country are already struggling to make ends meet because of soaring living costs.”
