With many of the nation’s schools resuming classes, a problem that many districts are facing is a shortage of teachers. Burnout, low-pay, increasing responsibility and disrespect from students and parents are just some of the factors causing many teachers to leave the profession. The problem is nationwide. The Economic Policy Institute estimates that Florida is short nearly 10,000 teachers just weeks before classes begin. The EPI also predicts that by 2024, there will be a national shortfall of 300,000 teachers.
