Objectivity 4.7 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.9

The US and South Korea have started military exercises which are the largest since 2017.  Ulchi Freedom Shield (UFS) will last until September 1st and seeks to bolster a deterrence posture against “North Korea’s provocations” according to South Korea’s Defense Ministry.  North Korea fired a pair of cruise missiles last week as the excercises began. South Korea’s new President, Yoon Suk-yeol, is seeking to take a tougher stance on North Korea while strengthening ties with the US.
