Hurricane Fiona Batters Dominican Republic; Puerto Rico Still Without Power

Hurricane Fiona has made landfall in the Dominican Republic after causing widespread damage to Puerto Rico which left most of the island without power. Despite being only a category 1 hurricane, Fiona hit Puerto Rico with winds up to 75 mph and left up to 30 inches of rain in some areas. Fiona is expected to dump at least 15 inches of rain on the eastern portion of the Dominican Republic. Fiona is then expected to past to the east of the Turks and Caicos as a category 2 hurricane and could hit Bermuda later this week as a major hurricane.
