Human Composting to Fight Climate Change in California

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.7

The State of California has just passed a bill that allows human composting in place of burial or cremation to combat climate change. Cremation reportedly causes 360,000 metric tons of carbon dioxide yearly, and to reduce that effect, human composting is the substitution. California Democrat Assembly member Cristina Garcia, who wrote the bill, states, “…this is an alternative method of final disposition that won’t contribute emissions into our atmosphere.”. The new bill will not act until the year 2027.
