Shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced his government was mobilizing 300,000 soldiers for the war in Ukraine, crossings into countries that border Russia have seen a surge in the number of people leaving Russia. The border crossing into Georgia, which doesn’t require a visa for Russian citizens, has had a line miles long and took over 12 hours for some to get through. Other destinations reachable from Russia by airline have seen a spike in one-way ticket sales.
