With just over two weeks until the U.S. midterm-elections, top Democrats are asking party members to help fill the party coffers. The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) began October with $59.2 million, by comparison the National Republican Congressional Committee had $92.3 million. Currently Democrats hold a five-seat majority in the House of Representatives, but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) sent a joint letter urging fellow Democrats to contribute financially or risk losing control of the House.
