Poll Reveals Inflation Concerns Driving Votes to Republicans

Objectivity 4.7 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.9

A  USA TODAY/Suffolk University Poll finds many voters are going back to basics, motivated to vote Republican amid the reality of crippling inflation under Biden’s leadership.  Compared to a USA TODAY poll from July where Democrats led 44%-40% on a generic ballot, those surveyed now show support for Republican congressional candidate by 49%-45%.  Although Democratic strategists predicted abortion rights would be a disruption to other factors that determine midterms after Roe v. Wade was overturned, polling revealed inflation mattered most to 56%-40% of those surveyed.  In the 2022 midterms Republicans need a net gain of five seats to win control of the House and a net gain of one seat to win control of the Senate.
