Objectivity 4.6 | Credibility 4.6 | Relevance 4.5

Michel Aoun, 89-year-old Lebanese president, resigned from office amidst a failing state.  While trying to form a government for the last six months, the country has been governed by a caretaker cabinet as the premier-designate for more than half of Aoun’s term.  Because of Lebanon’s disastrous financial downfall over the last three years and the deadly Beirut port explosion of 2020, opinions about Aoun’s leadership are divided.  He finished the last week of his presidency delineating a conflicted sea border with Israel and declared that his political career has not ended.
