North Korea Issues a Nuclear Threat against U.S.-South Korea Joint Drills

North Korea on Tuesday issued a nuclear threat against the U.S. and South Korean ongoing large-scale air force drills that started on Monday. Pak Jong Chon, a secretary of the ruling Workers’ Party, and a close confidant of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, called the drills “aggressive and provocative.” U.S. and South Korean officials have continually said their drills have a defensive purpose with no intention of attacking North Korea.
