October: CPI Shows Yearly Increase of 7.7%

October showed a continual climb in consumer prices while overall inflation held the pace of the previous month, excluding food and fuel.  The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.4 percent in comparison to September and increased by 7.7 percent compared to 12 months ago. Core consumer prices, a key indicator of inflation excluding food and energy, rose 0.3 percent for the month and 6.3 percent compared to a year ago.
