A Texas woman who had disappeared 51 years ago was found and reunited with her family in Fort Worth thanks to a DNA test, her family announced Sunday. Melissa Highsmith was 22 months old when she was kidnapped by a babysitter at her parents’ home in 1971. After her family had searched for Melissa for more than five decades, she was finally found living in Fort Worth with the name Melanie Walden through a DNA match. Last Saturday, Melissa and her parents were reunited for the first time after their 51 years of separation.
