The first all-electric semitrailer trucks by Tesla are being delivered to PepsiCo on Thursday. The electric carmaker expected completion in 2019 but experienced a three-year delay. In comparison to the cost effectiveness of diesel trucks, Tesla’s website states, “Charging with electricity is approximately 2.5 times cheaper per mile than refueling with diesel.” The Tesla Semi can go 500 miles on each charge and recharge up to 70% in 30 minutes.
