Indonesia’s Parliament Votes to Ban Sex Outside of Marriage

Objectivity 4.5 | Credibility 4.7 | Relevance 4.4

Indonesia’s Parliament voted to ban sex and cohabitation outside of marriage and insulting the president and state institutions. Additionally, citizens who associate with Marxist-Leninist organizations will face a 10-year sentence or those who promote communism will face a 4-year sentence.  Though it is most likely that the president will approve the law, the process of adding it to the penal code would take several years.
