Omaha-Area Catholic Schools Uphold Biological Sex in Revised Gender Policy

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.7

A revised gender policy was released on December 9 by the Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha, Nebraska, which upholds biological sex in all schools within their district.  The revised policy reads, “All students shall conduct themselves in accord with their God-given biological sex as it relates to the use of personal pronouns, dress code, use of public bathrooms, and participation in school-sponsored activities. All official school documents shall likewise reflect the student’s biological sex.” Archbishop George J. Lucas wrote, “The policy expresses our continuing determination for our schools to partner with parents whose children face special challenges, to the extent that we are able to do so.”
