Sen. Josh Hawley (R-MO) said Tuesday that he will introduce legislation to ban TikTok nationwide in the United States. “TikTok is China’s backdoor into Americans’ lives. It threatens our children’s privacy as well as their mental health. Now I will introduce legislation to ban it nationwide,” Hawley stated on Twitter. Hawley did not mention when he would introduce the legislation. TikTok, owned by its Chinese parent company ByteDance, has already been banned on all U.S. federal government devices since last month.
