House Republicans Ousted Ilhan Omar From Committee Over Antisemitism

Objectivity 4.6 | Credibility 4.9 | Relevance 4.5

The GOP-led House voted to oust Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee.  The move comes as a response to Omar’s several anti-Semitic statements over the last couple of years.  Some Democrats said Omar has been targeted for being black and Muslim. The resolution to remove Omar proposed by Rep. Max Miller (R-OH) read: “Omar’s comments have brought dishonor to the House of Representatives.  Omar clearly cannot be an objective decision-maker on the Foreign Affairs Committee given her biases against Israel and the Jewish people.”
