An AP-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll shows that only 37% of Democrats surveyed want Biden to run for President in 2024, down from 52% just before the November midterm elections. Respondents cited Biden’s age and perceived inability to implement major policy goals, especially when faced with a Republican majority in the House of Representatives, as concerns for Biden running again for President. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre downplayed the poll saying,“The way that we should look at this is what we saw from the midterms, because the president went out there and spoke directly to the American people.”
