On Tuesday President Biden delivered his State of the Union Address calling for Congress “to restore the soul of this nation.” He urged Congress to “restore the right the Supreme Court took away last year and codify Roe v. Wade to protect every woman’s constitutional right to choose” and “pass the bipartisan Equality Act to ensure LGBTQ Americans, especially transgender young people, can live with safety and dignity.” Touting his economic success, Biden compared present-day statistics with the worst days of the 2020 recession. Only a brief reference was made about the border crisis to which Biden’s solution is for Congress to pass his “comprehensive immigration reform.” Concerning foreign relations, he vowed to continue support to Ukraine while promising a hardline position against China.
