Florida lawmaker asserts that Disney is expecting Florida Gov. DeSantis to enter the 2024 presidential run and drop offensive strategy on current litigation proceedings over the company’s special self-governing status. “I think Disney anticipates having to litigate on this issue, to sue, hope to get a stay from the court to keep things status quo, and then basically just drag it out until DeSantis is gone and people need, or don’t care, about Disney,” State Sen. Jason Pizzo (D-FL) said. The bill which DeSantis signed into law to sunset Disney’s self-governing status will take effect in June, until then over forty lobbyists are representing Disney against the state’s lawsuit.
