Satanic Temple To Offer Online Healthcare Including Abortion

Objectivity 4.8 | Credibility 4.8 | Relevance 4.8

The Satanic Temple (TST) wants to offer online healthcare in New Mexico, including providing drugs for abortion. While abortion at all stages of pregnancy is legal in the state, there are only 3 abortion clinics in the state. TST says that any limitation on abortion restricts the practice of their faith and violates the law. TST further contests that since abortion is an act of its religious faith, the “abortion ritual” should be exempt from any state laws which require waiting periods, mandatory counseling or viewing of sonograms. TST has named the telehealth service “The Samuel Alito’s Mom’s Satanic Abortion Clinic” in apparent mockery of Supreme Court Associate Justice Samuel Alito who wrote the leaked opinion for Dobbs v. Jackson which ultimately overturned Roe v. Wade.
