U.S. authorities have confiscated massive amounts of fentanyl the last two fiscal years, but recent findings have seen a mix of fentanyl with xylazine, a flesh-eating drug. Administrator Anne Milgram said that xylazine “is making the deadliest drug threat our country has ever faced, fentanyl, even deadlier.” Republican Representatives Jim Banks of Indiana, Kat Cammack of Florida, and August Plfuger of Texas said, “The fentanyl crisis has already inflicted significant damage on our treatment clinics and programs, public health agencies, and our entire medical system.”
