According to multiple outlets, Jacob Chansley, known as the “QAnon Shaman,” has been released 14 months early from his prison sentence and moved to a halfway house in Arizona. Federal Bureau of Prisons’ recent changes in the First Step Act assessments qualified Chansley for early release. Advocates for Chansley began to grow after the January 6 Capitol surveillance footage was released, including Elon Musk, who tweeted, “Free Jacob Chansley.” The footage revealed Chansley being guided by police through the Capitol which sharply contrasts the image of a violent and dangerous insurrectionist the media portrayed.
