Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh has accused China of violating the standing border agreements put in place after an incident 3 years ago in the Ladakh region in which 20 Indian and 3 Chinese soldiers were killed. The clash has resulted in a running standoff involving tens of thousands of soldiers as well as tanks, artillery and fighter jets. Singh said since China has deployed even more troops to the region which are acting in an aggressive manner, it violates the established agreements and has “eroded the entire basis of bilateral relations.” China has not yet issued any statements or comments on the issue.
