The Internal Revenue Service is advertising through its website the job of “IRS Criminal Investigation Special Agent” for its Criminal Investigation branch. The job listing is for positions throughout the U.S. and is the only position with the IRS authorized to carry and use firearms. Among the major duties listed are “willing and able to participate in arrests, execution of search warrants, must be prepared to protect him/herself or others from physical attacks at any time and without warning and use firearms in life-threatening situations; must be willing to use force up to and including the use of deadly force.” The listing is for 360 positions in all 50 states and will remain open through the end of the year.
