Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, speaking at a meeting with his Greek counterpart in Athens, said that Iran has enough material to create at least 5 nuclear weapons. “So far, Iran has gained material enriched to 20% and 60% for five nuclear bombs. Iranian progress, and enrichment to 90%, would be a grave mistake on Iran’s part, and could ignite the region.” In possessing such stockpiles, Iran is in violation of the 2015 accord which limits its nuclear power program. It is believed by U.S. officials that Iran could enrich its current stockpiles to the weapons-grade of 90%, but lacks the technology to complete a working bomb or warhead.
