On Thursday night federal Judge T. Kent Wetherell II issued a two-week restraining order on the Biden administration hours before Title 42 ended with migrants flooding the southern border. Under the order, the federal government cannot enact a new immigration policy in which migrants would be released from custody without a court date or means to be tracked by authorities. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) issued a statement that the judge’s ruling will cause unsafe overpopulation in its detention facilities. However, according to the Times, Judge Wetherell says the Biden Administration is to blame for creating overcrowded conditions at CBP immigration detention facilities by luring illegals to the border.
