On Thursday the House of Representatives passed an immigration and employment bill which seeks to secure the border wall and impose more stringent measures on asylum seekers. The legislation, H.R. 2., counters the Biden Administration immigration policies and will restore many of the measures implemented by former President Trump. The bill passed with a vote of 219-213, with all Democrats and one Republican voting against the bill. With Democrats holding the majority in the Senate, it unlikely the bill will become a law. Also, Biden has pledged to veto it.
