On Monday Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) officially launched his bid for president in 2024 at an event in North Charleston, SC. In his speech, Scott shared his personal story of rising from extreme poverty to becoming the only black Republican Senator in Congress. A high-value endorsement for Scott comes from Senate Minority Whip John Thune (R-SD), who also spoke at the event and led a prayer before Scott spoke. Scott calls himself “the candidate the Far-Left fears the most.” Among his legislative accomplishments are the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, a signature bill signed by Trump. Issues such as school choice and a strong military are priorities to Scott.
