Target stores in some southern states were instructed to move their LGBTQ Pride merchandise away from the front of the stores following customer “outrage” in an attempt to avoid a “Bud Light situation,” where the company would have to buy back unsold items.  Each year Target features massive June Pride displays, but this year much of the merchandise is marketed for children which has spurred widespread outrage.  “Emergency” calls were made to some managers and district senior directors who were told to tamp down the Pride sections immediately, according to a Target insider.  Conservative pundit and author Bethany Mandel tweeted, “Bud Light learned an important lesson about wading into the culture wars recently. But partnering with Dylan Mulvaney is nothing compared to what Target is doing.”
